Day #8 – Highway 1 – Ventura – Burbank

After the best (read: the first real) breakfast we got in a hotel so far,
we hit highway 1 who took us down south.

We couldn't resist stopping several times to soak in the beauty of
the pacific coast. The smell of salt, the wind, it was fantastic.

We came across these professionally equipped happy campers.

As we had heard some good stuff about Ventura, we decided to stop
there to check it out. Love the sign writing on that bowling alley.

The old town looked very nice.

While cruising into town, we spotted this wonderful '64 Riviera.

One of my all-time favorite cars.

MGA with some patina.

Still life in a mexican taqueria.

Gone fishing.

There were a lot of very cool houses south of Ventura. I think this was
in Oxnard.

Before we met our friend Sandy of the Burbank choppers, we quickly
stopped at Bob's Big Boy in Burbank to grab a Burger. I had forgotten
that it was the time for the friday cruise night. We didn't stay for long, but
this bitchin' Cobra was worth a second look.

Digging through several layers of paint.

Beautiful california light.

VW Bug with a little more than the stock 30 hp.

Nice Pontiac coupe.

A couple more shots...

Finally, we arrived at Sandy Wachs' shop where he's working on his
model A hot rod project. This is gonna be a killer car for sure.

Pontiac Bonneville in the works.

Sandy's famous Ford custom truck.
