After our stay in a nice price motel, we wanted to splash out for breakfast. |
There's nothing like a healthy breakfast. |
Thanks to the savory breakfast, we felt ready to check out some backroads. |
Somehow we managed to get to Hollister. |
We came to Hollister to trace the roots of motorcycle club history but all we found were pick up trucks. |
Beautiful trucks. |
All of sudden, this '48 Chevy caught our attention. |
A wonderful, unmolested and solid car. |
In the same road, another nice truck. |
While we stood in amazement in front of that Chevy, its owner came out of his home and invited us to check out his cars. |
It turned out that Leo, the home owner, was an avid custom builder. He'd also been to Santa Maria and stored two Mercs in his backyard. |
This split bus kept company with the Mercs. |
Leo gave us the crucial hint so we finally found the birthplace of motorcycle clubs: Johnny's bar in the city of Hollister. |
Where it all began. |
The bar as it already existed in 1947. |
View from the bar's front door. |
Heading southwards, we couldn't resist checking out Madonna Inn. |
You guys are really lucky! But I start to worry about your cholesterol level :-)
